This website, chinenyeajayi.com, is run by Chinenye Ajayi in Lagos, Nigeria. This page explains what personal information it collects, why, and what you can do about it. Questions are welcome at talktonenye@chinenyeajayi.com.
What is collected, and why
Contact, booking and speaking forms. Your name, email address, phone number (if you give one) and the details you write. To stop spam we also see your IP address and browser details when you send a form. We use this to reply to you and to keep a record of your enquiry. When you send a form you also receive an automatic confirmation email.
Newsletter. Your email address, the page you signed up on, and the dates you signed up and confirmed. We use this only to send you the new-article emails you asked for. You are added to the list only after you click the confirmation link in the email we send you. Sign-ups that are not confirmed are deleted after 30 days. Every newsletter email contains a link to unsubscribe.
Why we are allowed to use it
For the forms, because you asked us to reply, and because we have a legitimate interest in answering enquiries and keeping the site free of abuse. For the newsletter, because you gave your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.
Who receives it
Your enquiry is delivered to Chinenye Ajayi’s email inboxes. The website and its email are hosted by Hostinger, which stores and delivers the information on our behalf. Its servers may be outside Nigeria. We do not sell your information or share it for marketing. We may disclose it if the law requires us to.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies and has no advertising or analytics trackers. One thing to know: the site’s fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google when a page loads, and Google receives your IP address.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with them and to keep a sensible record, and are then deleted. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only your address, marked as unsubscribed, so that you are not added again by mistake. Ask us if you would like that entry deleted too.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, to withdraw your consent, or to object to how it is used. Email talktonenye@chinenyeajayi.com. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, or to the data protection authority where you live.
